You write a prediction and drop the billet into a glass, never to touch it again.
A shuffled deck is cut by the first spectator who then ribbon spreads it on the table.
You have no control over the cards’ order whatsoever.
She freely inserts a joker anywhere in the spread, making a choicenot to be revealed yet.
You write a second prediction and drop it in the glass as well.
A second spectator picks up a bunch of cards and counts discretely, under the table, the number of cards he freely choose.
You show cards from the remainder of the deck, one by one, and ask him to remember the card at his number.
One of the spectators empties the glass on the table.
She reads the first prediction: you correctly predicted the freely chosen card.
Same happens with the second prediction: they match.
Impossible!
One chance in 140.608?
Coincidence?
Or did You manage to manipulate their mind?
Ask the second spectator to shine a light to the back of the prediction billet … is the secret revealed?
Ask the first spectator to hold the joker near to her heart and make a selfie.
The secret is revealed for a split second yet not on the picture she made.
The only reasonable explanation: there is NO …. ……
The bare essence of this routine is the
“Santiago‘s Secrets’ FreeChoice” deck that I developed.
It is marked in such an organic way that you will learn to read it in less than 1 minute.
Plus some fundamental calculus any 9 year old should be able to do.
You give a logic explanation for the back design of flowers and bees, to your spectators.
The routine is composed so that never the back of multiple cards are visible, even though both spectators handle the deck.
Since it is impossible to see the difference between… one single card…they will never suspect.
It is the only marked deck in the world (as to my knowledge and the opinion of many dealers I spoke at BMC2023) that not only gives you the value and suit of any card but also indicates its‘ position in a stack (according to me the easiest one to use and remember) even when the stack has been cut by the spectator.
The routine requires NO sleight of hand whatsoever.
Since it is not advisable to perform multiple effects using a stacked/marked deck in the same performance, you will get a second deck that has the same back design and that for obvious reasons was baptised “52 Virgins”.
Not only will you get the two decks but also a full 20’ routine using both decks and a rubber band.
Part of the routine includes an effect where you (apparently) explain what happened before to your spectators as they do all the handling entirely.
While you perform another “effect” with the glass.
Two magic tricks performed at the same time? Never seen before!
